Hello, Friends! Just an update

I'm busy with the garden this summer, but I'm still finding time to write a bit when excessive heat drives me inside for the day. I'm going through my document I call "ideas," which has short story, novella, and novel ideas in it and writing the short ones first, possibly to submit to magazines. This autumn, I'll be digging into the novel ideas and picking the best to write.

As California Wildfire season ramps up, you may feel moved to read or re-read my book on such a wildfire. I've lived through one, and a house I used to own there was burned down last year, so it's a subject if not 'dear' to my heart, in my heart for good or bad. It'll be on sale at the beginning of July for .99 US, for a few days only.

I may not release anything this year, for business reasons too boring to explain, but I'm still out here, plugging away on the writing (and the weeding! though I know no one cares about that but me and the weeds themselves.) I hope you are all well, too.

  1. I just wanted to say I love your books and have read them all multiple times. I did have a question. Would you consider continuing the Dawn of the mammals series? I would love to hear about the rest of the group's journey after the left Hannah and Dixie in the 30s!!

    1. Thanks for the note, Melody! I probably won't continue it. There's a related story in my free short story collection I send to mailing list fans. I had planned 8 books in the series and had them outlined, but it wasn't selling well, so I switched to the Oil Apocalypse series at that point. I'm glad you liked it; I did too and wish it had been more popular than it was!

  2. I'm enjoying your disaster books - they are the perfect amount of suspense and information! I've noticed 2 in ebook format, but I work on a computer all day and have absolutely no desire to read on one at home. Will they be released as real books? I would certainly buy them if they were!

    1. thanks for your kind comment! I'm glad I don't overwhelm with what I've learned in research. I find it all so interesting, but it can slow down a novel, for sure! My last two disaster novels, Ice and Fire, aren't out as PBs, but all the others are, and Storm is available in Large Print. (My 99 year old great aunt made me realize I should do at least one book in Large Print.) My shortest apocalyptic novel, 41 days, is also not available in paperback format, but the two long series are. And the time-travel survival adventure (Dawn of Mammals) is available in PB, and the art on the back cover is amazing. He did such a great job making it all scientifically accurate, and I couldn't be happier with those covers. : )
